Are the Institutional Investors in buy mode or a panic selling will hit the market this week.
If we ask from a common man he might give a data driven answer that what market data is revealing. So I decided to be honest and divided the analysis into simple steps.
- I have chosen a scale of 100 days, 5 days moving average to understand US market Dow Jones and to my surprise from 21 feb 2023 Dow Jones continually trading below all moving averages, except two days i.e. 3rd march and 6th march and from last 4 days a big intraday sell off in Dow Jones creating panic among global markets.
- To understand the indian markets as we have long term investors in Indian Markets I have chosen a scale of 200 days moving average accompanied with 20 days and 5 days moving average nifty respected 200 days moving average and a strong consolidation with volume in the range of 17319 to 17461 emerged as a support, but if this support is broken what next levels we can see in nifty. 16804 to 16982 coming out to be a support on technical charts. I may be wrong so sharing just observations and not recommendations.
- Now as the market is near its 200 days EMA, what institutional investors data suggests.
Answer is from 1st march 2023 to 10th march 2023
FII gross purchase 65692 crore approx
DII gross purchase 37796 crore approx
FII gross sale 51331 crore approx
DII gross sale 30866 crore approx
And this comes out to be net buy of 14361 crore by FIIs and 6929 crore net buy of DIIs.
Our take:
